Front Porch Therapy

I went by our old house today to drop off some things to the buyers.  The mom was sitting on the front porch drinking coffee and asked me to join her.  We sat out there about forty-five minutes, drinking coffee and talking about everything and nothing.   She didn’t need or want anything from me except a little company.  Just two people sharing a cup of Joe, enjoying the scenery.  It’s been so long since this has been the case and it was time that I needed and am very grateful for.

In the Fifteen years, we lived in that house, the only time I sat on that front porch was Halloween.  We were always too busy it seemed.  I learned something today.  Life doesn’t have to be extravagant to be enjoyed.  Sometimes the simplest things are the best things.  Thanks, Jessica for being the brightest spot of my day.

My husband and I are working toward a life of simplicity. We have six children and twelve grand-kids. This August we will be expecting our first Great-grandchild. My husband works full time and as of now, I am a stay at home wife. Our big house is up for sale. We currently live in a travel trailer near my husband's work. We recently purchased land and are anxiously looking forward to moving, but there are a few hangups.
